Purpose of the Mental Health Matters Awards
The Mental Health Matters Awards exist to recognise and celebrate the people and organisations making a genuine difference to Mental Health across NSW. The purpose is to highlight the impact of those working to improve awareness, strengthen services, and promote better mental wellbeing in our communities.
More than just an awards ceremony, the event is a chance to showcase the breadth of work happening across the sector—from grassroots community projects and peer-led initiatives to larger organisations and partnerships driving real change.
By bringing together advocates, professionals, community members, and supporters, the Awards create a space where achievements can be acknowledged, stories can be shared, and inspiration can be found. It’s about shining a spotlight on those whose hard work might otherwise go unseen, and reminding us all of the progress being made in mental health every day.
