KYDS Spring Splash is coming to Hornsby Aquatic & Leisure Centre on Sunday 25 October, calling on the community to swim, cheer, volunteer or simply show up in support of local youth mental health service KYDS Youth Counselling.
Every day, young people reach out to KYDS for help, a service that’s there for as long as it takes, with no referral or Medicare card required and counselling free for those who need it. This swim challenge is the community’s chance to help keep that support accessible, one lap at a time.
Choose your challenge:
Open to solo swimmers, teams and families, participants can pick the distance that suits them, from a gentle splash right through to a serious swim, all completed at their own pace.
Make a splash: 100m
Dip your toes in: 1km
Swim steady: 2km
Go the distance: 5km
Challenge yourself: 10km
Registration costs $25, which covers pool entry, and participants are encouraged to fundraise as much as they can before the big day, with every dollar going directly to KYDS.
On land:
Not keen on getting in the water? Family and friends are welcome to come along and cheer on the swimmers (a pool spectator fee applies), with a full afternoon of community fun planned on land, including face painting, kids’ activities, a Lions Club BBQ, live music and games.
Don’t miss your chance to get involved!
