Your Impact Starts Here
What is Mental Health?
Mental health refers to a person’s overall emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how individuals think, feel, and act, and how they handle life’s challenges, interact with others, and make choices. Good mental health helps people cope with life’s stresses, realise their potential, work and learn effectively, and contribute to their communities.
By the numbers in NSW:
- Nearly 1 in 5 adults experience high or very high psychological distress.
- Around 22% of residents live with a long-term mental or behavioural condition.
- In outer regional and remote areas, rates climb to 34% for long-term mental health conditions.
Every number represents a person. Every partnership helps make a difference.
Your support can:
Together, we can create stronger, more resilient communities where everyone has the knowledge, support, and confidence to prioritise their mental wellbeing.

Making an Impact Together –
Actevate CEO, Robert Migliore:
“We have proudly partnered with Wayahead because we share the belief in empowering people and that making a difference begins with a conversation. This year’s theme, Let’s Talk About It, resonated for me and when Mary and Sharon asked Actevate to consider a partnership we too felt it was a good opportunity to commend the possibility that comes from talking about it.”
