2018 Annual Members’ Forum

Annual 2018

“What is the role of workplace wellbeing when the way we work and where we work is changing?”

The WayAhead Workplaces Annual Members’ Forum was in Sydney on Friday 22nd June.

The meeting was hosted by Aon Hewitt.

Following on from last year’s theme of an Integrated Mental Health Approach, we wanted our attendees to be thinking about their employees as bringing their whole selves to work.  Are they helping their employees to be the best employee they can be, to deliver the outcomes they want for their organisation by creating an environment of trust, inclusion and tolerance in the workplace that supports employee wellbeing?  On the day we hope to help organisations look at how the nature of workplaces are going to slowly change going forward and how wellbeing is a key part of that.  We think it involves different things for different people, such as their geography, job type and life stage.

Our special guests were Catherine Lourey, Mental Health Commissioner NSW and Robyn Hobbs OAM, NSW Small Business Commissioner.

Additional Guest Speakers included:

  • Dr Tim Sharp, Chief Happiness Officer, Speaker & Consultant, Writer & Coach, Positive Psychologist and Mental Health Advocate, The Happiness Institute, “Workplace wellbeing – how to put the research to work”

  • Katherine Winlaw, Manager Workforce Strategy, Queensland Public Service Commission, “New ways of working: Be flexible”
