Bullying remains a societal problem with victims of bullying and people who instigate bullying often starting the behaviour from a young age. The behaviours learnt through bullying can affect the victim and instigator far beyond the individual instances when it occurs and if done over a sustained period of time, can lead to poor mental health and wellness outcomes of the victim and instigator in later life.
WayAhead’s sister organisation in the ACT, Mental Illness Education ACT (MIEACT) has developed a solutions focused bullying prevention program aimed at reducing the stigma associated with labelling children as bullies, bystanders and victims called No Labels. The program has been piloted and now introduced into several high schools across the ACT.
