Anxiety & Student Life Online Anxiety Support Group

Wayahead’s Anxiety & Student Life Online Anxiety Support group is run by Gilbert and Zein on the 1st Saturday of every month at 2pm. A group for students who are 18 years and over.

This group is a free, monthly space for students living with anxiety to connect with others who understand the same experience. Anxiety can make student life feel overwhelming, whether that be from academic pressures and deadlines, to social situations with finding new friends. This group offers a safe and supportive student-centric space where you can connect with other students going through similar challenges. There’s no pressure to speak, and you’re welcome to listen, share, or simply be present.

Our online groups are usually comprised of a small number of people who come together over Zoom to share personal experiences and information in a safe, friendly and supportive environment. Online Groups are for people living in Australia only.

All Wayahead support groups are free of charge.

When? Every 1st Saturday at 2pm

Where? Online – Join Meeting

We ask that none of the participants record the support group session and no one other than the participant views or listens in on the support group. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that what is discussed at the meeting will remain confidential as we have to rely on the members of the group to maintain confidentiality.

What happens at a support group?

IMPORTANT – This is not a treatment group. It is a place where people who are impacted by anxiety can give and receive support related to living with and managing their anxiety. It is facilitated by trained volunteers who have a diverse range of experiences but who are not qualified health professionals. As such, this group is not suitable for people with high levels of mental distress which may be associated with psychosis, severe depression or active post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). We recommend that you do not attend this group if you are experiencing high levels of distress as it is unlikely that it will able to meet your needs.
