Urgent Survey: Psychiatrist Crisis Impacting Mental Health Carers

Urgent Survey on Impact of Public Psychiatrist Resignations on Mental Health Carers

Mental Health Carers NSW (MHCN) is conducting an urgent survey to understand the impact of the recent mass resignation of public psychiatrists on mental health carers and the people they support. The crisis has left many carers struggling to access essential care for their loved ones.

This short, 4–5-minute survey aims to gather vital information on the challenges faced by carers due to this shortage of psychiatrists. Your responses will help MHCN advocate for improved mental health services and raise awareness of the crisis’s devastating consequences.

Key questions the survey addresses:

  • Is the person you care for experiencing difficulties accessing their usual care?
  • Are there new, unmet needs arising from the psychiatrist shortage?

All responses will be kept strictly confidential in accordance with MHCN’s privacy policy. While MHCN may share summarized data (including anonymised information like postcode and service access details), your individual identity will remain protected. You are not required to answer every question.
