DESCRIPTION:Sydney Local Health District Mental Health Services and Inner West Council present Heaps Mad\, an open mic event at Marrickville Pavilion. \nWe invite Inner West locals to perform for 5-10 minutes\, from poetry and opera to dance and rock. \nThis event reflects on mental health\, lived experiences\, and the importance of mental well-being. \nWe welcome all community members\, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples\, diverse cultures\, LGBTQ+ individuals\, older persons\, people with disabilities\, and youth.

SUMMARY:Connecting Inside and Out (CIAO)
DESCRIPTION:Connecting Inside and Out (CIAO) is a two-session Mental Health Month program for LGBTQIA+ young people and allies aged 18–24. Through creative expression\, guided reflection and shared experiences\, participants will explore identity\, personal strengths and belonging\, build meaningful connections with others\, and celebrate their creativity in a safe and inclusive space. CIAO aims to strengthen connection to self\, peers and community\, supporting positive mental wellbeing and a stronger sense of belonging. \nSession 1 will explore identity\, personal strengths and belonging through guided journaling\, creative art activities and shared reflection.\nSession 2 will bring everyone together for a relaxed community celebration featuring a creative showcase\, hands-on activities and open-mic sharing\, with friends and allies welcome to join.
