Description
WayAhead is an association of members, the Mental Health Association NSW. We’ve been around for over 80 years thanks in part to the strength of our membership base.
About members, President of the Association, Dr Meg Smith says
In 80 years, we have been at the cutting edge of advocacy to change the ways mental health care is delivered; with dignity and respect. Our Members over the years have been active and vocal in lobbying for change in the mental health area – from changes to legislation, complaints and inquiries into health care practice, development of new models of mental health care, promotion of mental health, and support for particular groups of people in the community who are seeking a voice in their own care and treatment.
Members help to promote our activities or inspire new ones. Our Board which is responsible for our Strategic Plan is elected from members.
Members help support our on-ground activities particularly in rural and remote places.
Besides helping us promote positive mental health and wellbeing, members have opportunities to facilitate their professional development, and support the great work of the organisation!
Membership is a great way of showing your support for the work of WayAhead. One of the benefits of WayAhead membership is an eligibility to vote for, or even become, a board member. A prerequisite for joining the board is being a paid member so become a member, show your support and help inform our organisation and our work.
(Just a note, Mind Reader subscription is not automatic WayAhead Membership.)
